Modesty please!

I just babysat for a couple who went to see Batsheva Dance company and they said there was frontal nudity. Thats artistic expression. It seemed that there were several articles in the SF Chronicle regarding sexy costumes. What's really pushing my button these days is working with a preschool teacher who was showing a little skin. more than I need to see. I'm fighting for the purity of childrens souls. The preschool is a diverse mix of observance. I'm not being self righteous, I only want to be heard, if this preschool is a safe place, I want to feel safe. If the children don't see it at home, why at school? I don't feel like I want to be distracted by this, the concept of modesty is that I notice someones character traits and not their tight jeans. Its about revealing our true essence.

Holy things are hidden. a woman is compared to a diamond, wrapped in velvet. Only at certain occasions is she uncovered. I like dressing up-mystery is good. I would've liked to live in the Victorian era-or not-I wouldn't want to wear a corset.
In Tehillim all the glory of the kings daughter is within. Learning that gives me a sense of self respect I can walk around with regality.

I completely dig the pants with a skirt over. Definitely comfortable.
as for dressing, its finding the balance of not hiding myself-I like to wear layers, but not to lose myself.

in the beginning

Today is Rosh Chodesh, the beginning of the month of Cheshvan. Cheshvan is also known as Mar Cheshvan, the month with no holidays. What a relief, yeah. to have Sundays back again.

Yesterday I went to Four Gates Winery to harvest Chardonnay grapes. Its a great opportunity to be out in the fields. We don't have enough opportunities to connect with nature. We are more connected to the food we eat when we participate in the process of growing or harvesting it. I had the opportunity to briefly go to the beach and see tidepools, as well as seeing a starry sky at night. that's what I'm grateful for.
